The building is paired with a repurposed, heritage - listed former print-media office and production complex, and replaces a surface parking lot in the emerging Mid-town District. With its adjacent public courtyard, a multi-purpose hall, enhanced amenity facilities, and 160 apartments, the project is intended to animate and a transitional urban area north of downtown.

The horizontal massing modular composition and fenestration rhythms of the existing complex, are intentionally juxtaposed with the verticality and massing of the new structure and its varied façades. The Press House is set back from the late-modern building to create the courtyard between. The building’s major axis is North- South, to ensure direct daylight reaches every apartment from the east or west.
