BC TRANSIT COMMISSION OFFICE AND VEHICLE MAINTENANCE CENTRE

A regional headquarters that houses administration, operations, maintenance, recharging and storage functions for this key transit service. The facility is comprised of a public-facing office wing and a large vehicle maintenance garage. Natural toned cladding visually harmonizes with its setting that includes a formerly derelict, now restored fish-bearing stream and wetland. The semi-urban site includes augmentation and enhancement of the adjacent regional cycling trail and the location and landscape are designed with cultural interpretive elements developed in collaboration with the Esquimalt Nation. The project targets LEED Gold certification from the CaGBC.
