NIGEL VALLEY NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN

Nigel Valley is a 3.66 hectare (9.04 acre) portion of a semi-urban block located in the District of Saanich BC. The Nigel Valley Neighbourhood Plan represents the largest land development initiated by BC Housing. Valued at over $250 million, the project also represents the largest single investment in affordable housing on Vancouver Island. The lands will be redeveloped into a mixed-used neighbourhood of market and non-market uses. The current 185 residences provide homes for families, seniors, vulnerable individuals, a licensed residential care facility for adults with disabilities, and a centre providing day services and programs for individuals with developmental and medical challenges. Through phased comprehensive redevelopment these units will be replaced and integrated with market housing as well as an additional 280 affordable housing units.
