Adult Multi-Care Facility, Saanich BC

A, 6-storey, 2- wing complex for congregate multi-level adult care apartments, and resident personal services. Facilities were designed for independent, assisted, and full-support, long-term care for the elderly, and for people with physical and psychological disabilities and challenges. The project is the first phase of a comprehensive redevelopment plan (also by DAU), for the Nigel Valley Neighbourhood that includes market, and non-profit residential, social and health services. The ground floor includes group and individual program areas, medical offices, food services and amenity spaces. The upper floors include a wing for 41 Licensed Residential, Long Term Care, with a 15-bed secure unit, and another wing for 37 Assisted Living and Affordable Apartments. Resident amenities include outdoor roof terraces and indoor common lounges. The complex is a synergistic hybrid of these housing types, designed for their distinct functions and efficient levels of service in an integrated, and beautiful form.
