LINKLEAS HOUSE
Oak Bay, BC
The client selected a sloped rocky site in an old garden city suburb for their 4450 sf home for a growing young family. The design concept is two roughly equal, connected 2-storey volumes. Toward the front of the site are the formal social spaces below the main bedroom suite, and behind facing the private yard and a dramatic rock-face are the informal social spaces, home office, and gym, below the children's rooms. The house is nestled into the landscape, including a preserved existing established front garden. Clad in custom-profiled metal with stucco and wood accents, the design is a contemporary play on the traditional suburban form.
