The Squamish Waterfront is a 13-acre property, part of the Squamish Peninsula lands situated south of Westminster Street, on the industrial waterfront of Squamish adjacent to the Downtown. These lands were created in the 1940s by filling in the estuary, and have since been used for heavy industrial activity and log sorting. Squamish has historically been an industrial town with an economy based on mining and logging, but it is now diverging from this history to include tourism, outdoor recreation, light industry, and a variety of cultural and creative activities. The redevelopment of these lands to accommodate such uses will play a significant role in shaping the future of the town.
