Franc D'Ambrosio was invited by the Burnside Gorge Neighbourhood Association to collaborate with the lead civil engineers for an extensive Cecelia Ravine stormwater control project, integrating infrastructure with the park and the neighbourhood. Some of the design concepts included day-lighting of a substantial portion of the long-buried creek, stepped and ramped banks to allow access to the creek, and fish habitat enhancements. Concrete retaining walls and barriers were inscribed with poetic references to the importance of water. Traditional park elements such as seating, steps, paved public space, extensive indigenous planting, and landscape restoration were also part of this highly public project.
